The International EducationFacultyfinds its roots in the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Office under the Basic Courses Department.Itwas initially established as the International Education Center in 2003 and formally renamed the International EducationFacultyin 2018.Shanxi University of Chinese Medicineis one of the universities entrusted by the Chinese Government Scholarship Program for cultivation.Thefacultyoversees public foreign language instruction for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as the enrollment and administrative oversight of international students.

The faculty comprises 25 staff members, including 19 full-time teaching faculty, 5 of whom hold senior academic titles.Its state-of-the-art facilities include 10 language laboratories spanning 1,131.78 square meters with 630 seats, complemented by a well-equipped library and resource center housing 8,560 volumes.

The curriculum encompasses23courses.Guided by a student-centeredpedagogicalphilosophy, thefacultyis dedicated to cultivating students' comprehensive English proficiency, cross-culturalcommunicationcompetency and autonomous learning capabilities. It emphasizes holistic humanistic development, global perspective expansion and cultural confidence in cross-cultural engagement, while actively promotingtraditional Chinesemedicine (TCM)heritage and articulating China's narratives on the global stage.

Over the past three years, faculty members have secured 33 provincial-level researchprojects, published 19academic papersand translated one academicbook. They have also earned 11 accolades in prestigious teaching competitions. Under their mentorship, students have achieved 150 provincial/ministerial-level or higher awards in national English proficiency contests.

For two consecutive decades, thefaculty has assumedresponsibility for delivering the "Clinical Application Training Programs for Acupuncture and Tuina Massage" to medical practitioners in developing countries.Since formally launching international degree education programs in 2002, our student recruitment network has expanded to encompass over 20 countries and regions including South Korea, Romania, Pakistan, India, and Slovenia. To date, we have cultivated a cohort exceeding 1,000 internationalTCMprofessionals, establishing a globally recognized model fortrans-culturalmedical education.

国际教育学院前身为基础部外语教研室，2003年成立国际教育中心，2018年更名为国际教育学院。学校是中国政府奖学金委托培养高校。学院负责本科生、研究生公共外语教学及国际学生招生与管理工作。现有教职工25人，其中专任教师19人，高级职称教师5人。学院现有语音实验室10间，总面积1131.78㎡，座位数630个，图书资料室藏书8560册。

学院目前开设各类课程23门，坚持以学生为中心的教学理念，致力于提升学生的英语综合应用能力、跨文化沟通能力和自主学习能力，加强学生的人文素质培养，持续拓宽学生的国际视野，持续坚定跨文化交流的文化自信，积极传播中医药文化，讲好中国故事。

近三年来，教师承担省级课题33项，发表学术论文19篇，出版译著1部，在各类教学竞赛中获奖11人次。指导学生在各类英语学科竞赛中获得省级及以上奖项150人次。

学校连续20年承担“发展中国家针灸及推拿技术临床应用培训班”教学任务。2002年正式开展国际学生学历教育以来，生源地辐射韩国、罗马尼亚、巴基斯坦、印度、斯洛文尼亚等20多个国家。累计培养国际学生千余人。
